![]() ![]() ![]() SEE ‘Project Runway’s’ war of the sexes: Will a male or female designer emerge victorious on Season 17? So once again there were eight champions in the room working on collections for the final show. The other two were joined by designers who were eliminated earlier this season on “All Stars.” Michelle teamed up with Sean Kelly, wile Biddell got a helping hand from fellow foreign “Runway” alum Christina Exie. Dmitry’s assistant was “Runway” season 15 winner Erin Robertson. Irina was assisted by “All Stars” season one winner Mondo Guerra. But day two brought a welcome relief: for the remaining three days all of the designers would have help from another “Runway” alum. Sholokhov’s planned collection didn’t seem to have a specific name or firm concept like his opponents’ his designs came from a more personal place that would express his growth as an artist and as a person.Īnd it was off to the races! The hectic first day in the workroom ended with Irina falling behind the others, whose looks were starting to take shape while she was still sewing and cutting out pieces. Irina designed for a strong woman and focused her collection around the kinds of architectural, geometric designs that have served her well for so much of the season (she came into this finale with more high scores from the judges than anyone else in the competition). Michelle titled hers “Harvest Mood” after Neil Young‘s album “Harvest Moon” it would be a bohemian, 1970s inspired collection with witchy vibes. Michelle, Biddell and Irina’s ideas were completely on-brand. Project Runway All Stars airs on Lifetime on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. Sean Kelly, Christina Exie and Michelle Lesniak are also still in the running for the Season 7 competition. As the winner of the "Buckle Up!" unconventional materials challenge though, she's still managed to receive the most of judges's high scores and landed the runner-up position of the week on three different occasions so far this season. Meanwhile, Irina Shabayeva continues to be a fan favorite, despite her rollercoaster of a season and her appearance in the bottom two for her graduation dress in episode 2. While third-time contestant, Dmitry Shokhov, who has never lost a season he's appeared in, seemed to be in the lead since the show premiered in January, some fans are suspecting his stronghold on the competition is starting to wan after getting beat out by Anthony Ryan Auld in the last few challenges. In total, there are still eight contestants in the running. If the competitors don't step up their fashion game, they could potentially see themselves on the chopping block on Wednesday's episode. So far there are still two contestants that have yet to win a design challenge, Canadian designer Evan Biddell and Brazil's Cynthia Hayashi. While his dismissal was a sad one for fans, his axing wasn't all that surprising considering the Netherlands designer was in the bottom three for several challenges. Last week's episode saw the end of Django Steenbakker. Guests Vanessa Williams and Jasmine Tookes will join Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman at the judges's table. The new episode, premiering on Lifetime on Wednesday, will see designers going head-to-head to create sensational night-time attire for models while the judges provide their cutting-edge commentary and fashionable insight. It's all about glam on the upcoming Season 7 episode of Project Runway All Stars. ![]()
